The former 'Doctorr,' Gillian McKeith, got her title removed this
week. Apparently she undertook a correspondence course in "eating
human faeces" which didn't really cut the mustard. It's a shame,
because the amount of shit she has eaten has obviously influenced her
in relation to the amount of shit she speaks.

We all knew she wasn't a doctor. Just looking at her was enough.

Just looking at her is enough to realise you wouldn't take diet advice
from that woman, she looks ghastly. Practise what you preach and all
that.

The proper Doctor and Nutritionist on ""Diet Doctors" are much better,
more sympathetic with better advice and none of the silly stuff that
Mckieth advocates.

Could be interesting seeing what would happen if McKeith appeared on GMTV,
only to share the couch with Ben Goldacre and a qualified dietician. My own
weight loss plan is pretty effective and contains no quackery. Just 3 square
meals a day with nothing in between, and virtually no alcohol, chocolate or
stuff made with pastry. Unfortunately it would be difficult to make a TV
series or write a "miracle diet" book which just gave advice like "eat less
food and get more exercise".

And there you have put your finger on the problem! A "dietician" is a
qualified and registered healthcare professional. A "nutritionist" such as
McKeith does not necessarily have any qualifications whatsoever.

Getting the five-a-day in can be a problem. Some married blokes are lucky to
get one a week :)
